Where To Find A Good Telecommuting Company
Finding a good telecommuting is like trying to find your favorite M & M color in a half pound bag of chocolate. It just takes time. Here are some ideas you might find useful in tracking down the company that all telecommuters are dying to work for.
If you are working in a private firm that is computer-oriented, then you might just want to ask them if they would consider hiring telecommuters. You could be their test program. Of course, this is assuming you enjoy working for this company.
You could also do your research online and find out who the top telecommuting companies are. However, don’t stop there. You will also need to go further by finding out what the general consensus is about the company from its current roster of telecommuters.
Fortunately for you, this will not require you to go traipsing to different offices to interview telecommuters. You can also use the internet to log on to telecommuters forums and ask a few questions. Naturally, take everything you hear or read with a grain of salt, since some people could just be griping abut a personal issue.
Talk to outsourcing companies who could link you up with a reliable telecommuting company provided you sign up with them. The advantage of this is that you have someone watching your back, and protecting you from possible scammers and chronic non-payers or late payers.
You could try randomly applying to companies you think would be open to telecommuting, or who already have a telecommuting program. If you plan to do this, choose companies that are either well-established and computer savvy, or new companies that are just starting up. Why just these two?
A company that has been in business for a number of years, and has established itself as a reputable firm with firm financial foundation will have the right infrastructure to set up a telecommuting division that is effective, well planned, and organized. With a company just starting up, there is no cliques established, and everyone is basically on the same mode of getting ahead. These are ripe environments to come and establish yourself as a good telecommuter.
You could even be lucky because a good telecommuting company is easier to find now than 5 years ago. This means you have more options and greater opportunities to make a more than decent income with telecommuting.
When you finally find the telecommuting company you want, submit a great proposal that would be impractical for them to turn down.
